The Virtue of Providing Iftar for Others

It is narrated from Zayd ibn Khalid that the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said:
"Whoever provides iftar for a fasting person will earn the same reward as that person, and nothing will be diminished from the fasting person’s reward." (Ahmad, Ibn Majah, Nasai, Tirmidhi)

It is narrated from Salman al-Farsi that the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said:
"Whoever provides iftar for a fasting person, their sins will be forgiven, and they will be freed from the fire of Hell. They will also receive the same reward as that fasting person. However, the reward of the fasting person will not be reduced in any way." The companions asked, "O Messenger of Allah! Not all of us have the means to provide iftar for a fasting person." In response, the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said, "Allah will grant this reward even to the one who provides a sip of milk, a date, or a sip of water." "Whoever gives water to a fasting person, Allah will allow them to drink from my pond, and they will never feel thirsty until they enter Paradise." (Ibn Khuzayma)

Other hadiths also describe the virtue of providing iftar, as mentioned above. From this, it is understood that by providing iftar to someone, one earns the same reward as the one fasting. Therefore, the more fasting people you can provide iftar for during Ramadan and other times, the more reward you will receive. Just as wealthy people will provide iftar for others, poor people should also arrange iftar for others according to their means.
